Karel Anthierens
Karel Anthierens (22 October 1935 – 15 December 2022) was a Belgian journalist. He worked for 17 newspapers and magazines during his 40-year career. It is stated that no other Flemish journalist has worked for so many different newspapers, magazines and television channels. Biography Anthierens had 11 brothers and sisters. His brothers Johan Anthierens and Jef Anthierens were also well-known journalists. Anthierens started working as an editor at ''De Periscoop'' in 1957. After that he worked for various Flemish magazines, he worked three years later at the weekly magazine ''HUMO'', where his brother was the editor-in-chief. Anthierens would later become the editor-in-chief until 1969. Anthierens then worked for other newspapers and magazine including ''Het Laatste Nieuws'', ''Knack (magazine), Knack'' and ''Panorama''. The VRT (), is the national public-service broadcaster for the Flemish Community of Belgium. History VRT is the successor to a succession of organisations. The Belgian National Institute of Radio Broadcasting was known as the Nationaal Instituut voor de Radio-omroep (NIR) in Flemish and the L' Institut National de Radiodiffusion (INR) in French, was founded in 1930 and existed until 1960. This became the Belgische Radio- en Televisieomroep (BRT) in 1960 and the Belgische Radio- en Televisieomroep Nederlandstalige Uitzendingen (BRTN) from 1991 to 1998. Johan Anthierens
Johan Anthierens (22 August 1937 – 20 March 2000) was a Belgian journalist, columnist, publicist, critic and writer. He became notorious because of his socially conscious columns, as well as his equally controversial opinions during interviews. He published both in ''HUMO'' as well as ''Knack'' and founded his own short-lived satirical magazine, ' in 1982-1985. The general public got to know him thanks to his television appearances, both as panel member in the quiz ''De Wies Andersen Show'' and as interviewer in the talkshow ''Noord-Zuid'' (''North-South''). Due to his confrontational criticism of capitalism, the monarchy, the Church, the establishment and the far-right movement Anthierens had both a lot of admirers as well as many enemies.
