Karditsa ( ) is a city in western Thessaly in mainland Greece. The city of Karditsa is the capital of Karditsa regional unit of the region of Thessaly. Climate Karditsa has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen climate classification: ''Csa''). Karditsa experiences hot, dry summers and cool winters with substantial precipitation. History During the period of Ottoman rule in Thessaly, the main settlement in the location of modern Karditsa was called Sotira. In 1810, the English traveler William Martin Leake mentioned a sprawling village named Kardhítza, consisting of between 500-600 houses, of which the majority of the inhabitants were Turkish.Leake, William Martin. Anagennisi Karditsa Football Club () is a Greek professional football club based in Karditsa, Greece, which competes in the Super League 2, the second tier of the Greek football league system. Karditsa (, ) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Thessaly. Its name is derived from its capital Karditsa, a town of approximately 56,000 people. AO Karditsa
A.O. Karditsa F.C. is a Greek football club, based in Karditsa, Karditsa, Thessaly, Greece. History A.O. Karditsa F.C. was founded in 1966. As a continuation of P.O.E.K. The period 1970–1971 played for the first time in B Ethniki, where he remained until 1976. The season 1978–1979 returned to B Ethniki but relegated the same season. In the early 1980s, after the restructuring and professionalisation of football, the AOK relegated to Delta Etniki, and from there to the Local League of Karditsa, from where he returned to Delta Ethniki in 1987. Karditsomagoula (Greek: Καρδιτσομαγούλα) is a large village in the Karditsa regional unit in Greece, with nearly 2,000 inhabitants. It is part of the municipality of Karditsa and is situated north of the central area of Karditsa, separated from it by the Greek National Road 30 ( Arta - Trikala - Karditsa - Volos). It has a grid layout consisting of six 1,500-metre roads (North–South) and eleven 900-metre roads (East–West). It is located southeast of Trikala, southeast of Larissa, west of Palamas, northwest of Sofades, and northeast of the Plastiras Dam. Farmlands dominate the area around Karditsomagoula, the main product being cotton covering 26,000 acres (105 square kilometres) of land.
