Karan Pravinbhai Patel (born 30 September 1994) is an Indian cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Gujarat in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy on 20 October 2016. 2016–17 Inter State Twenty-20 Tournament
2016–17 Inter State Twenty-20 Tournament was a Twenty20 cricket tournament in India. This was the first edition of the tournament, with the top teams qualifying for the 2016–17 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The tournament was held from 29 January 2017 to 6 February 2017. 28 full members of BCCI participated in the tournament. Teams were divided in 5 geographical zones and competed within the zones in a Round-robin tournament. One winner was be declared from each zone. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Rest of India cricket team is a first-class cricket team in India that continually changes, being composed from players across the country ''except'' for those from the season's current Ranji Trophy winner. It annually competes against the Ranji Trophy winner for the Irani Cup, "The Best vs Best of the Rest" tournament. The team was officially instituted in season 1959–60, playing its first match on 18 March 1960 against the Bombay cricket team (now Mumbai). Rest of India has won the tournament 27 times and shared the trophy twice (with Bombay in 1965-66 and Delhi in 1979–80). The 2016–17 Ranji Trophy was the 83rd season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. Unlike previous seasons, the 2016–17 tournament was played at neutral venues. Captains and coaches were supportive of the change. Chhattisgarh cricket team made their debut in the competition, becoming the 28th team to compete in this edition of the Ranji Trophy.
