Kapu Rajaiah
Kapu Rajaiah (7 April 1925 – 20 August 2012) was an Indian painter. He was well known for his depiction of country life paintings, and his works were displayed around the world. He was the founder of Lalita Kala Samithi in 1963, whose extension was inaugurated at Kala Bhavan. Life Rajaiah was born in Siddipet, Medak, into a poor family. He completed a diploma at the Government School of Art in Hyderabad. His works of Nakashi art had themes such as Vaddera mahila, Yellamma Jogi, Gopika Krishna, Panta Polaalu, Vasantha Keli, Kolatam, Toddy Tappers, Bonalu, and Bathukamma. Rajaiah died at the age of 87 on 20 August 2012 from complications of Parkinson's disease.(Telugu) He has eight children which includes but is not limited to Dr. Ramesh Kapu, Raghu Kapu, Krishna Kapu, and Mahesh Kapu. KALA RATNA
The Kala Ratna ( te, కళారత్న) earlier Hamsa Award, is a civilian honour of the Andhra Pradesh state are conferred annually by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and is organised by the State Cultural Council and Department of Culture on the occasion of Telugu new year, Ugadi. The awards celebrate achievements by persons of eminence in their chosen fields. The awardees are from the fields of literature, music, dance, painting, sculpture, folk and tribal arts. Along with Kala Ratna awards, the Andhra Pradesh government presents Ugadi Puraskarams on the same stage. The Award The awards are presented by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Each award carries an amount of Rs. 30,000, a shawl, a gold plated Hamsa (Swan) memento. Parkinson's Disease
Parkinson's disease (PD), or simply Parkinson's, is a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system. The symptoms usually emerge slowly, and as the disease worsens, non-motor symptoms become more common. The most obvious early symptoms are tremor, rigidity, slowness of movement, and difficulty with walking. Bathukamma
Bathukamma is a flower-festival celebrated by the women of Telangana and some parts of Andhra Pradesh . Every year this festival is celebrated as per the Sathavahana calendar for nine days starting on Pitru Amavasya, which usually coincides with the months September–October of the Gregorian calendar. Bathukamma is celebrated for nine days and corresponds to the festivals of Sarada Navratri and Durga Puja. It starts on the day of Mahalaya Amavasya and the 9-day festivities will culminate on "Saddula Bathukamma" or "Pedda Bathukamma." Bathukamma is followed by ''Boddemma'', which is a 7-day festival.
