Kapchagay
Qonayev ( ), also known as Konaev () and by other names, is a city in southeastern Kazakhstan. It is the seat of government for the Almaty Region. Both derive from Dinmukhamed Kunaev, a former first secretary of the Communist Party of the Kazakh SSR during Soviet rule. The city was renamed in his honor on 17 March 2022.
