Kapil Dev Prasad is a weaver from Bihar, India. He is known for popularising the Buddhist art of weaving ‘bawan buti’ (52 motifs) on sarees, bedsheets and curtains. Life and career Kapil Dev Prasad was born in 1954. His family occupation involved the handloom. Bihar Sharif
Bihar Sharif is the headquarters of Nalanda district and the fifth-largest sub-metropolitan area in the eastern Indian state of Bihar. Its name is a combination of two words: ''Bihar'', derived from '' vihara'' (meaning monastery), also the name of the state; and ''Sharif'' (meaning ''noble''). Nalanda (International Alphabet of Sanskrit Transliteration, IAST: , ) was a renowned Buddhism, Buddhist ''mahavihara'' (great monastery) in medieval Magadha (Mahajanapada), Magadha (modern-day Bihar), eastern India.
