Kao Kuo-ching
Kao Kuo-ching (; born 6 October 1978) is a Taiwanese first baseman who is a free agent. He has previously played in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) for the Uni-President Lions. He served as the Lions' captain beginning in 2007. He has also played for the Taiwan national baseball team in 2008 Final Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Career He refused to sign a long-term contract with Uni-President Lions, having the confidence that he will perform better next season. Before 2013 season, he claimed that he did not regret about not signing a long-term with Uni-President Lions last season. A first baseman, abbreviated 1B, is the player on a baseball or softball team who fields the area nearest first base, the first of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. The first baseman is responsible for the majority of plays made at that base. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the first baseman is assigned the number 3. Also called first sacker or cornerman, the first baseman is ideally a tall player who throws left-handed and possesses good flexibility and quick reflexes. Chen Kuan-jen (; born 15 April 1982 in Taiwan) is a Taiwanese professional baseball player who is currently a free agent. Career In 2006 season, as a rookie, he gained the Batting Championship Award and Chinese Professional Baseball League Rookie of the Year. Chang Tai-shan (; Amis name Ati Masaw; born 31 October 1976 in Taitung, Taiwan), is a Taiwanese former professional baseball player. Career He originally drafted by the Wei Chuan Dragons in 1996, he has played for the Sinon Bulls and Uni-President Lions of the Chinese Professional Baseball League. A well-known slugger, Chang has been a frequent member of the Chinese Taipei national baseball team since 1998 and holds the record of hitting the most home runs in CPBL history with 289. Michael Keith Johnson (born October 3, 1975) is a Canadian former professional baseball pitcher who pitched all or part of five seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), and also played in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), KBO League, and the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL).
