Kanika Bandopadhyay
Kanika Banerjee, also known as Kanika Bandopadhyay (12 October 1924 – 5 April 2000) was a famous Bengali singer known for performing Rabindra Sangeet. She frequently performed on All India Radio Kolkata and at institutions across India, Europe, and America. With over 300 gramophone records, she was praised for her distinct voice and ability to express the subtle emotions in Tagore’s songs while staying true to the notes. Biography Early life She was born on 12 October 1924 at Sonamukhi in Bankura district, West Bengal. Kanika studied at Visva-Bharati University. She was trained in both classical and Rabindrasangeet in ''Sangeet Bhavana'' (School of Music) at Santiniketan. Indira Devi Chaudhurani
Indira Devi Chaudhurani (29 December 1873 – 12 August 1960) was an Indian literary figure, author and musician. Born to the Tagore family, Indira was the younger child of Satyendranath Tagore and Jnanadanandini Devi and younger sister of Surendranath Tagore. She is noted for her work in scoring the music for a number of songs by her uncle Rabindranath, with whom she was particularly close. Indira Devi Chaudhurani died in 1960. Chinmoy Chattopadhyay (; also Chinmoy Chatterjee; 7 October 1930 – 26 July 1987) was a Bengali singer, primarily known for singing Rabindrasangeet songs. Atul Prasad Sen (; 20 October 1871 – 26 August 1934) was a Bengali composer, lyricist and singer, and also a lawyer, philanthropist, social worker, educationist and writer. Early life Atul Prasad Sen was born as the eldest child of Ram Prasad Sen and Hemanta Shashi, in a Vaidya family from the village Magor in South Bikrampur, Faridpur District, presently located in Bangladesh.
