Kani (crab)
''Kani maranjandu'' is a species of tree crab first identified in 2017. ''K. maranjandu'' has, to date, only been observed in the forests of the Western Ghats in Kerala, India. , it is the only species in the genus ''Kani''. Taxonomy ''Kani maranjandu'' represents a newly discovered genus (''Kani''), named for the local Kani tribe. The species name maranjandu means tree crab in local language (Malayalam). The discoverers have placed the genus within the family Gecarcinucidae. Characteristics ''Kani maranjandu'' is distinguished from other crabs of the family Gecarcinidae by its distinctive carapace and the structure of the male abdomen, as well as its very long walking legs. The species is entirely arboreal, relying on water held in small hollows of trees for survival. Amiya Deb
Amiya Kumar Deb (16 November 1917 – 10 January 1983) was an Indian sportsman active in the 1930s and 1940s who played association football, cricket and field hockey. Playing career Deb played football for Mohun Bagan, and cricket for Bengal. He is the first footballer who scored a hat-trick in Mohun Bagan vs East Bengal match, known as the Kolkata Derby. He scored all 4 goals in darbhanga shield (one of the most difficult tournaments in those days after Calcutta Football League and IFA Shield) in 1934 (on 5 September 1934) for Mohun Bagan against East Bengal. It was the Bengal zone, India section semifinal match of Darbhanga shield. Mohun Bagan won the match 4–1. He also scored in darbhanga shield Bengal zone India section final match of 1933 (on 30 August 1933) and Mohun Bagan won the match 2–0. 4265 Kani ( ''prov. designation'': ) is a dark background asteroid from the inner regions of the asteroid belt. It was discovered by Japanese astronomers Yoshikane Mizuno and Toshimasa Furuta at Kani Observatory on 8 October 1989. The carbonaceous C-type asteroid has a rotation period of 5.7 hours and measures approximately in diameter. It was named for the Japanese city of Kani. Orbit and classification ''Kani'' is a non-family asteroid of the main belt's background population when applying the hierarchical clustering method to its proper orbital elements. It orbits the Sun in the inner main-belt at a distance of 1.9–2.9  AU once every 3 years and 9 months (1,382 days). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.20 and an inclination of 4 ° with respect to the ecliptic. Crab sticks, krab sticks, snow legs, imitation crab meat, or seafood sticks are a Japanese seafood product made of ''surimi'' (pulverized white fish) and starch, then shaped and cured to resemble the leg meat of snow crab or Japanese spider crab.
