Kangaroo River, a watercourse of the Clarence River catchment, is located in the Northern Tablelands district of New South Wales, Australia. Course and features Kangaroo River rises on the slopes of the Great Dividing Range, near Moleton, southwest of Glenreagh, and flows generally north by west and then north by east, joined by the Towallum River before forming its confluence with the Orara River, southeast of Coutts Crossing. The river descends over its course; and flows through the Nymboida National Park in its upper reaches. Kangaroo River (Shoalhaven)
The Kangaroo River is a perennial river of the Shoalhaven catchment located in the Southern Highlands and Illawarra regions of New South Wales, Australia. The Kangaroo River, in Kangaroo Valley, is one of the few rivers that flows west before joining the Shoalhaven river to flow out to the sea. Location and features The river rises within the Budderoo National Park about north-west of Illawarra lookout. It initially flows in a north-westerly direction to Carrington Falls, where the river crosses the western escarpment of the Budderoo Plateau. The river then turns to the south-west and flows through the communities of Upper Kangaroo Valley and Kangaroo Valley, and into the Morton National Park. The river ends its course by flowing into Lake Yarrunga, a reservoir formed by the Tallowa Dam and situated just downstream of the confluence of the Shoalhaven and Kangaroo rivers. The Kangaroo River Nature Reserve, part of the Kangaroo Valley Group of Nature Reserves, is a protected nature reserve that is located on the floor of the Kangaroo Valley in the Southern Highlands and South Coast regions of New South Wales in eastern Australia. The reserve is situated approximately south of Sydney, southwest of Wollongong and northwest of . The reserve has a protective covenant placed upon it with purpose to ensure the protection of the natural heritage of this area. National parks in the area include the Morton National Park and the Budderoo National Park.
