Kang Chul
Kang Chul (born 2 November 1971) is a former South Korean football player who played as a left-back. He played for South Korea in two Summer Olympics and two AFC Asian Cups. After retirement, he became an assistant manager under Hwang Sun-hong for a long time. In the 2013 Korean FA Cup, he was named the best manager after leading Pohang Steelers to win the final instead of Hwang who was sent off. 2000 AFC Asian Cup Squads
The 2000 AFC Asian Cup is an international football tournament that was held in Lebanon from 12 to 29 October 2000. The 12 national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of minimum 18 players and maximum 23 players, minimum three of whom must be goalkeepers. Only players in these squads were eligible to take part in the tournament. The position listed for each player is per the official squad list published by AFC. The age listed for each player is on 5 January 2019, the first day of the tournament. The numbers of caps and goals listed for each player do not include any matches played after the start of tournament. The nationality for each club reflects the national association (not the league) to which the club is affiliated. Korean FA Cup
The Korean FA Cup is a national football cup knockout competition of South Korea, held annually by the Korea Football Association (KFA). Before the FA Cup was established in 1996, two predecessor competitions named All Joseon Football Tournament (1921–1940) and Korean National Football Championship (1946–2000) were played, but the FA Cup did not succeed their records. The winner qualifies to the next season's AFC Champions League group stage. Pohang Steelers
The Pohang Steelers (Hangul: 포항 스틸러스) are a South Korean professional football club based in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province that compete in the K League 1, the top flight of South Korean football. The Steelers were founded on 1 April 1973 and were originally called POSCO FC after the steel-making company POSCO, which still owns the club today. They are one of South Korea's most successful teams, having won the K League five times and the AFC Champions League three times. Hwang Sun-hong
Hwang Sun-hong (born 14 July 1968) is a South Korean former football player and current head coach of the South Korea national under-23 football team. He was the most notable South Korean striker in the 1990s and early 2000s. Club career After graduating from Konkuk University, Hwang decided not to enter the K League and left for Germany to begin his professional career. During a season, he played for the reserve team of Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 16 goals in the Oberliga Nordrhein, Germany's third division at the time. Next season, Hwang joined 2. Bundesliga side Wuppertaler SV, but he appeared only nine games due to a cruciate ligament injury. Hwang joined POSCO Atoms (currently Pohang Steelers) after returning to South Korea in June 1993.
