British records highlight that the area names that end with "vali" are actual valleys through the small hills surrounding the area. History In the 16th century, Kandivli consisted of a number of villages including Kandivli (is also known as Kandol), BunderPakhadi Koliwada and Charkop. The other old settlements in Kandivli were villages occupied by the local community, East Indian Community, Bhandaris and Koli - who are recognized as the original native inhabitants of Mumbai, these communities are still living in Kandivli. Kandivli (Pronunciation: aːn̪d̪iʋəliː formerly Khandolee, station code: KLE) is a railway station on the Western line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. It serves the Kandivli neighbourhood of Mumbai, India. All slow local trains temporarily halt between Kandivli and Borivali for a few seconds for signaling purposes, which commuters call an imaginary station named ''Thambevali''. In 2020, during the COVID-19 crisis, Children's Academy along with Project Mumbai undertook a beautification project for Kandivali railway station. Ganesh Chaturthi (ISO: ), also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi () or Vinayaka Chavithi () or Vinayagar Chaturthi (), is a Hindu festival celebrating the birthday of Hindu deity Ganesh. The festival is marked with the installation of Ganesha's ''murtis'' (devotional representations of a deity) privately in homes and publicly on elaborate pandals (temporary stages). Bandra ( æːɳɖɾa is a coastal suburb located in Mumbai, the largest city of the Konkan division in Maharashtra, India. The area is located to the immediate north of the River Mithi, which separates Bandra from the Mumbai City district.
