Kanas River
The Kanas River () is a river in Burqin County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang, China. It originates from the main peaks of the Altai Mountains. It is a perennial river with a total length of 125 kilometers, an average width of about 50 meters, and a maximum width of 100 meters. Converging with the Hemu River to form the Burqin River, the water velocity at the Kanas Bridge is 2.5 meters per second under the perennial water level. Altay Prefecture
Altay Prefecture is located in Northern Xinjiang, People's Republic of China. It has an area of and a population of 561,667 (2000). It is a part of the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture. As of the 2000 census, Altay was the only major subdivision of Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture with an ethnic Kazakhs, Kazakh majority (about 51%). In 2007, it had a GDP of Renminbi, RMB 9.9 billion with a 12% growth rate. It also shares an international border with the neighboring Altai Republic, located within Russia. Hemu River
Hemu (; 1501 – 5 November 1556), also known as Hemu Vikramaditya and Hemchandra Vikramaditya, was an Indian king (maharaja) who previously served as a general and Wazir of Adil Shah Suri of the Sur Empire during a period in Indian history when the Mughals and Afghans were vying for power across North India. He fought Afghan rebels across North India from Punjab to Bengal and Mughal forces of Humayun and Akbar in Agra and Delhi, winning 22 battles for Adil Shah Suri. Hemu claimed royal status after defeating Akbar's Mughal forces on 7 October 1556 in the Battle of Delhi and assumed the title of Vikramaditya that many Indian kings had adopted in the past.
