Kamwookya, sometimes spelled as Kamwokya, is a location within the city of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest metropolitan area. Location Kamwookya is bordered by Kyebando to the north, Bukoto to the northeast, Naguru to the east, Kololo to the southeast, Nakasero to the south and Mulago to the west. British High Commission Kampala
The British High Commission Kampala is the diplomatic mission of the Government of the United Kingdom to Uganda, representing the United Kingdom and the United Kingdom's interests. It is located on Windsor Loop in the Kampala suburb of Kamwokya. The current British High Commissioner is Kate Airey who was appointed at the end of 2019, and started in November 2020. History Uganda became an independent sovereign country in October 1962, at which time a British High Commission was established in Kampala. Mulago
Mulago is a hill in north-central Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. The hill rises above sea level. The name also applies to the neighborhoods that sit on this hill. Location Mulago is in Kawempe Division, one of the five administrative divisions of Kampala. It is approximately , by road, north of the city's central business district. Uganda Wildlife Authority
The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) is a semi-autonomous Ugandan government agency that aims to conserve, manage and regulate Uganda’s wildlife. "UWA is mandated to ensure sustainable management of wildlife resources and supervise wildlife activities in Uganda, both within and outside the protected areas". As of April 2020, UWA manages ten national parks, twelve wildlife reserves, and fourteen wildlife sanctuaries. UWA also provides guidance for five community wildlife areas. Bobi Wine
Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, known by his stage name Bobi Wine, is a Ugandan politician, singer, and actor. He is a former Member of Parliament for Kyadondo County East constituency in Wakiso District, in Uganda's Central Region. He also leads the National Unity Platform political party. In June 2019, he announced his candidacy for the 2021 Ugandan presidential election. He participated in the 2021 election where he lost to the incumbent Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, a result which Kyagulanyi and a large section of the public strongly disputed. On December 14, 2021, he was placed under house arrest by the Government of Uganda. He has continued to protest his arrest. Naguru, also Naggulu, is a hill in Kampala, the capital and largest city in Uganda. The name also applies to the commercial and residential neighborhoods that sit on that hill. Makerere University, Kampala (; Mak) is Uganda's largest and oldest institution of higher learning, first established as a technical school in 1922.
