Kamran Hossain Chowdhury
Kamran Hossain Chowdhury (; 24 July 1952 – 4 December 2024) was a Bangladeshi politician who was a Member of Parliament from Faridpur District, Faridpur. He was a member of the List of members of the 4th Jatiya Sangsad, 4th Jatiyo Sangshad. He was a member of the parliamentary standing committee on foreign relations. Early life Chowdhury was born in the Faridpur Biswas Estate on 24 July 1952. His father Shamsuddin Chowdhury was the son of a zamindar and studied at Maulana Azad College, Islamia College in Calcutta during the British Raj. Shamsuddin lived in Baker Hostel with Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. His mother Halima Chowdhury was the daughter of a magistrate who worked in different parts of Bengal throughout his career, including in Calcutta in the 1940s and Faridpur in the 1950s. Faridpur District
Faridpur District () is a district in south-central Bangladesh. It is a part of Dhaka Division. It is bounded by the Padma River to the northeast. The district was named for its headquarters, the city of Faridpur, Bangladesh, Faridpur, which itself was named for Baba Farid, Farīd-ud-Dīn Masʿūd, a 13th-century Sufi saint. A separate district was created by severing Dhaka district in 1786 and was called Dacca Jelalpur. A municipality was established in 1869. Historically, the town was known as ''Fatehabad''. It was also called Haveli Mahal Fatehabad. History The town of Fatehabad was located by a stream known as the Dead Padma, which was from the main channel of the Padma River.
