Kamindu Mendis
Pasqual Handi Kamindu Dilanka Mendis ( Sinhala: පැස්කුවල් හන්දි කමිඳු දිලංක මෙන්ඩිස්, ; born 30 September 1998), popularly known as Kamindu Mendis, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who plays for the national team in all three formats and for Colombo Cricket Club in domestic cricket. He is an ambidextrous bowler who can bowl both right and left-arm deliveries. He made his international debut for the Sri Lanka cricket team in October 2018. Early and domestic career Mendis started bowling with both arms at the age of 13 while playing cricket for Richmond College, Galle. Galle
Galle (, ; , ) (formerly ) is a major city on the southwestern tip of Sri Lanka, south of Colombo. 2019 South Asian Games
The 2019 South Asian Games, officially the XIII South Asian Games, was a major multi-sport event which was originally slated to be held from 9 to 18 March 2019 in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal. However, the dates were postponed and the event was held from 1–10 December 2019, coincidentally at the same time as the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. The new dates were confirmed at the South Asian Olympic Council Executive Board meeting in Bangkok on 1 March 2019. 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup
The 2018 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament held in New Zealand from 13 January till 3 February 2018. It was the twelfth edition of the U19 World Cup, and the third to be held in New Zealand after the 2002 and the 2010 events. New Zealand became the first country to host the event thrice. The opening ceremony took place on 7 January 2018. The West Indies were the defending champions. However, they failed to defend their title, after losing their first two group fixtures. 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup
The 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament held in Bangladesh from 22 January to 14 February 2016. It was the eleventh edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and the second to be held in Bangladesh, after the 2004 event. The World Cup was contested by the national under-19 teams of sixteen International Cricket Council (ICC) members, and all matches played held under-19 One Day International (ODI) status. Ten teams qualified automatically for the tournament through their status as ICC full members, while five others qualified by winning regional qualifying events. The final place at the tournament was taken by the winner of the 2015 Under-19 World Cup Qualifier, which was contested by the runners-up at the five regional qualifiers. AIA Premier Limited Over Tournament
The Premier Limited Overs Tournament (currently known as AIA Premier Limited Overs Tournament for sponsorship reasons) is the main domestic limited overs cricket competition in Sri Lanka. It was established in 1988 and has existed under four different names. The 2016–17 tournament was cancelled due to a legal challenge from Negombo Cricket Club, after they were removed from Tier B of the 2016–17 Premier League Tournament. Kariyawasam Indipalage Charith Asalanka (born 29 June 1997) is a Sri Lankan professional cricketer who currently serves as the captain of the national team in white-ball formats of Twenty20 International, T20I and One Day Internationals, ODI. He plays the limited-overs formats of the game for the Sri Lanka national cricket team, national team and is the 14th T20I captain of the Sri Lankan cricket team. Richmond College, Galle
Richmond College () is a primary and secondary school in Galle, Sri Lanka which was established as the Galle High School in 1876. The founder of the school was the Wesleyan Missionary George Bough. The first principal of the school was Rev Samuel Langdon. In 1882, it was renamed Richmond College. Richmond College is considered as one of the oldest public schools in Sri Lanka, since the former school of the college dates back to 1814.
