''Needless'' (stylized as ''NEEDLESS'') is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kami Imai. It was serialized in Shueisha's ''seinen'' manga magazine '' Ultra Jump'' from October 2003 to June 2013, with its chapters collected in sixteen ''tankōbon'' volumes. An anime television series adaptation by Madhouse aired from July to December 2009. The anime was licensed for English release in North America by Sentai Filmworks. Synopsis This anime is set in the year 2130 (the beginning date remains unclear), 50 years after World War III.
