Kamarudin Md Nor
Kamarudin bin Md Nor is a Malaysian politician who has served as a Member of the Kelantan State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administration under Menteri Besar Mohd Nassuruddin Daud and as a Member of the Kelantan State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Ayer Lanas since August 2023. He is a member and State Chairman of Kelantan of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the PN and formerly Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalitions. Previously, he was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He served as the MLA for Semerak from 1997 to November 1999 and again from March 2004 to March 2008. The Malay language has a complex system of Style (manner of address), styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia and Singapore. 1997 Semerak By-election
The 1997 Semerak by-election was a by-election that was held on 11 August 1997 for the Kelantan State Legislative Assembly seat of Semerak. It was called following the death of its PAS assemblyman Sulaiman Ahmad, aused by stroke. Sulaiman won the seat on 1995 Malaysian general election under Angkatan Perpaduan Ummah banner against Ismail Awang of Barisan Nasional and Musa Salleh of AKIM with a majority of 248. Kamarudin Mohd Nor of Barisan Nasional wrest the seat against PAS Wan Mohd Fauzi with a majority of 778 votes. Mohd Din of AKIM lost his deposit, after only garnering 27 votes. 2013 Malaysian General Election
General elections were held in Malaysia on Sunday, 5 May 2013. Voting took place in all 222 parliamentary constituencies, each electing one MP to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. State elections also took place in 505 state constituencies in 12 of the 13 states (excluding Sarawak) on the same day. The elections were the first since Najib Razak became Prime Minister in 2009. The unofficial opposition Pakatan Rakyat coalition led by Anwar Ibrahim received a majority of the vote, with its three member parties collectively receiving 50.9% of the vote. However, they won only 89 of the 222 seats. The incumbent governing alliance, Barisan Nasional, received 47.4% of the vote and won 133 seats, giving Najib a second term in office. 2004 Malaysian General Election
General elections were held in Malaysia on Sunday, 21 March 2004. Voting took place in all 219 parliamentary constituencies, each electing one Member of Parliament to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. They were the first elections for Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as Prime Minister following his appointment in 2003. State elections also took place in 505 state constituencies in twelve of the thirteen states (except Sarawak) on the same day, which also marked the first time Sabah held its state election parallel with the other states of Peninsular Malaysia. The Kelantan State Legislative Assembly () is the unicameral State legislative assemblies of Malaysia, state legislature of the States and federal territories of Malaysia, Malaysian state of Kelantan. It consists of 45 members representing single-member constituencies throughout the state. Elections are held no more than five years apart.
