Kaman K-1125
The Kaman K-1125 was a prototype American 12-passenger civil transport helicopter developed by Kaman Aircraft. Development In August 1962, Kaman Aircraft first flew a prototype civil transport helicopter. It used components of the earlier Kaman K-600 (H-43) with a new fuselage for 12 passengers. Instead of the twin booms of the earlier Huskie, it had a single boom and a ramp-equipped rear door. Sometimes called the Huskie III, the helicopter was powered by two Boeing YT60 turboshafts which were later replaced with two Pratt & Whitney PT6B-11 engines. Kaman Corporation is an American aerospace company, with headquarters in Bloomfield, Connecticut. It was founded in 1945 by Charles Kaman. During the first ten years the company operated exclusively as a designer and manufacturer of several helicopters that set world records and achieved many aviation firsts. HH-43 Huskie
The Kaman HH-43 Huskie is a helicopter developed and produced by the American rotorcraft manufacturer Kaman Aircraft. It is perhaps most distinctive for its use of twin intermeshing rotors, having been largely designed by the German aeronautical engineer Anton Flettner. First flown on 21 April 1953, the HH-43 went into production and was operated by several military air services, including the United States Air Force, the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps. It was primarily intended for use in aircraft firefighting and rescue in the close vicinity of air bases, but was extensively deployed during the Vietnam War. The Boeing T50 (company designation Model 502) was a small turboshaft engine produced by Boeing. It was the first turboshaft engine to ever power a helicopter: a modified Kaman K-225 in 1951. Its design was started in 1958, it first ran in February 1960, first flew on 30 May 1961, entered service in 1964, and has been continuously updated since.
