Kalmoohi (2010 TV Series)
''Kalmoohi'' is a Pakistani television series directed by Sarmad Sultan Khoosat and based on Rabindranath Tagore's '' Chokher Bali''. It stars Sania Saeed as a widow and the series depicts her relationship with three individuals, two friends played by Shamil Khan and Sohail Sameer and a friend of her own played by Seemab Muzaffar. The series premiered on 13 February 2010 on PTV Home. Plot Noor Bano is a young widow and a deep human being, lives in a hostel of Murree. Her tragic past disturbs her mentally. She has an emotional relation with Nun Josephine and they have great affection for each other. In Sheikhupura, the matriarchs of a haveli Sultana and Saeeda (called as Bey ji by her children) decides to marry the former's step son Adil. Sarmad Sultan Khoosat
Sarmad Sultan Khoosat (, born 7 May 1979) is a Pakistani actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. Mainly known for his work as a director and actor in both cinema and television, Khoosat has directed the super-hit TV dramas ''Humsafar'' and '' Shehr-e-Zaat''. The son of Irfan Khoosat, he is considered one of the best South Asian filmmakers with his 2019 film '' Zindagi Tamasha'' being selected as Pakistan's entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards. The film also premiered at the 24th Busan International Film Festival under the section 'A Window on Asian Cinema'. However, the film release in the Pakistani cinemas was delayed multiple times and Khoosat finally released it on YouTube on his official channel Khoosat Films on 4 August 2023. ''Chokher Bali'' (চোখের বালি) is a 1903 Bengali language, Bengali novel by Rabindranath Tagore that revolves around the central character Binodini and her relationships with three individuals.
