Kalmakkol
Kalmakkol (), is a salt lake in Gabit Musirepov District, North Kazakhstan Region, and Zhaksy District, Akmola Region, Kazakhstan. Novoishim town, the administrative center of the district, is located approximately to the NNW of the lake. The border with Akmola Region runs close to the southwestern shore of the lake and a small sector lies within Zhaksy District.Google Earth Geography Kalmakkol occupies a tectonic depression at the southern end of the West Siberian Plain. It lies about to the east of the left bank of the Ishim. The Akkanburlyk, a tributary of the Ishim, flows to the north of the northern end. Zhaksy-Zhalgyztau
Zhaksy-Zhalgyztau (; ), is a lake in Aiyrtau District, North Kazakhstan Region, and Sandyktau District, Akmola Region, Kazakhstan. Zhaksy-Zhalgyztau village is located by the northeastern and Priozyornoye by the southern lakeshore. Most of the lake is North Kazakhstan Region, but the southern tip is in Akmola Region.Google Earth The lake water is used for irrigating nearby agricultural fields. Geography Zhaksy-Zhalgyztau lies in the western sector of the Kokshetau Lakes, at the western edge of the Kokshetau Hills. It is part of the Ishim basin. The shape of the lake is irregular, with two wide bays in the north separated by a broad landspit. The Akkanburlyk river flows out of the western end of the lake. The water is fresh and the bottom is sandy and pebbly. Zhaksy-Zhalgyztau is fed by rain and groundwater.

Ulykol
Ulykol (; ), is a lake in Gabit Musirepov District, North Kazakhstan Region, Kazakhstan. Novoishim town, the administrative center of the district, is located approximately to the north of the lake. Starobelka village lies by the northern lakeshore. Sentinel-2 is an Earth observation mission from the Copernicus Programme that acquires optical imagery at high spatial resolution (10 m to 60 m) over land and coastal waters. The mission's Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B satellites were joined in orbit in 2024 by a third, Sentinel-2C, and in the future by Sentinel-2D, eventually replacing the A and B satellites, respectively. Ishim (river)
The Ishim (; ) is a river running through Kazakhstan and Russia. It is long, and has a drainage basin of . Its average discharge is . It is a left tributary of the Irtysh. The Ishim is partly navigable in its lower reaches. The upper course of the Ishim passes through Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. In Russia, the course of the river travels through a vast marshland, and has countless meanders and oxbow lakes. The river freezes from late November until March.
