Kallmünz Die Naab
Kallmünz is a municipality in the district of Regensburg in Bavaria, Germany. Located on Naab River about 25 km north of Regensburg, Kallmünz has preserved a beautiful medieval center. The main attractions are the ruins of the Kallmünz Castle above the town on a cliff and the old stone bridge over the Naab River. The Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky and the German expressionist painter Gabriele Münter met in Kallmünz during the summer of 1903. Since then, Kallmünz has been the constant home of a small art colony. Kallmünz Castle, the seat of the former Counts of Kallmünz, has been fortified since the Bronze Age. __NOTOC__ The Naab (Czech: ''Nába'') is a river in Bavaria, Germany. This 97.5 kilometer long river is a left tributary of the Danube. Its average discharge at the mouth is . The Naab is formed by the confluence of the Waldnaab and the Haidenaab in Luhe-Wildenau, south of Weiden in der Oberpfalz. It flows generally south, through the towns Nabburg, Schwandorf and Burglengenfeld. It flows into the Danube near Regensburg. Gabriele Münter
Gabriele Münter (19 February 1877 – 19 May 1962) was a German expressionist painter who was at the forefront of the Munich avant-garde in the early 20th century. She studied and lived with the painter Wassily Kandinsky and was a founding member of the expressionist group '' Der Blaue Reiter.'' Early life Münter was born to upper middle-class parents in Berlin on 19 February 1877. Her family supported her desires to become an artist. Her father died in 1886. She began to draw as a child. As she was growing up, she had a private tutor. In 1897, at the age of twenty, Münter received artistic training in the Düsseldorf studio of artist Ernst Bosch and later at the Damenschule (Women's School) with artist Willy Spatz. A mason's mark is an engraved symbol often found on dressed Rock (geology), stone in buildings and other public structures. In stonemasonry Regulations issued in Scotland in 1598 by James VI and I, James VI's Master of Works, William Schaw, stated that on admission to the guild, every Masonry, mason had to enter his name and his mark in a register. There are three types of marks used by Stonemasonry, stonemasons. *Banker marks were made on stones before they were sent to be used by the walling masons. Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky ( – 13 December 1944) was a Russian painter and art theorist. Kandinsky is generally credited as one of the pioneers of abstract art, abstraction in western art. Born in Moscow, he spent his childhood in Odessa, where he graduated from Grekov Odesa Art School, Odessa Art School. He enrolled at the University of Moscow, studying law and economics. Successful in his profession, he was offered a professorship (chair of Roman Law) at the University of Tartu, University of Dorpat (today Tartu, Estonia).
