Jan Kalivoda
Jan KĹ™titel Václav Kalivoda (Johann Baptist Wenzel Kalliwoda in German) (February 21, 1801 – December 3, 1866) was a composer, conductor and violinist of Bohemian birth. Life Kalivoda was born in Prague in 1801 and as early as 1811 started studying violin and composition at the Prague Conservatory. He made his debut as a violinist at the age of 14. Upon completion of his studies he became a member of the Prague Opera Orchestra. His diploma from the Conservatory read "Excellent player solo or in an orchestra...shows great talent in composition." More prosperous tours as a violinist, for instance to Linz and Munich, followed. Kalivoda lived what appears to have been a stable, hardworking musical life. For more than 40 years, from 1822 to 1865, he held the post of conductor at the court of Prince Karl Egon II of FĂĽrstenberg and his successor in Donaueschingen (where the Danube begins in the Black Forest). Viktor Kalivoda
Viktor Kalivoda (11 September 1977 in Slaný – 26 September 2010 in Valdice Prison), also known as the "Forest Killer", was a Czech spree killer who shot three people. Youth Kalivoda was born in Slaný, where he studied at the local grammar school, excelling in mathematics and physics. His classmates described him as a silent, introverted loner. In 1996, he passed his matura. He then studied at the Faculty of Informatics of the Masaryk University in Brno and the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, before working as a policeman for Prague 6. He attempted suicide several times, once even longing to jump off from the Nusle Bridge. Marek Kalivoda
Marek Kalivoda (born 2 August 1974) is a Czech former football player who has also worked as a football manager. He is currently the manager of FK Fotbal Třinec in the Czech National Football League. Having previously served as the team's coach for the youth team, Kalivoda was appointed as the manager of Zlín, replacing Ladislav Minář in the summer of 2010. Having spent seven years with Zlín, Kalivoda left the club upon the expiry of his contract in 2011. Andrea Kalivodová (born 24 November 1977) is a Czech opera singer. A mezzo-soprano, Kalivodová has been performing as a soloist with the Prague State Opera since 2003. Life and career Born in Kroměříž in 1977, Kalivodová spent her childhood in Brno, attending the Brno Conservatory. In 1998 she won the National Competition of Czech Conservatories in Pardubice, and went on to study at the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU). After graduating from HAMU she went on to study for one year at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW). During this period she won a number of international singing competitions, including first prize from the Emmy Destinn Foundation in the Anglo-Czechoslovak Trust's International Singing Competition in 2001, as a result of which she was invited to perform with other young singers in Covent Garden, London.
