''Kalhöun'' is the ninth album by Christian alternative rock band Daniel Amos, released on BAI Records in 1991. It was issued under their contracted moniker dä and was their first album of studio material in four years. Background Following the release of 1987's '' Darn Floor-Big Bite'', Daniel Amos took a hiatus of several years as band members worked on other projects, such as The Swirling Eddies. ''Kalhöun'' was released during a special release party that was thrown for fans and held at Cornerstone '91 by Stunt Records. Lead singer and songwriter Terry Taylor was at the party to autograph CDs for the fans that attended. Stunt Records' Tom Gulotta held a special auction of D.A. memorabilia - including early artwork for Taylor's solo album, '' Knowledge & Innocence'', a promotional copy of The Swirling Eddies video "I've Got An Idea" and Arthur Fhardy's flowery shirt, which was torn off him during a rowdy performance by the Eddies at Cornerstone '90. Daniel Amos
Daniel Amos (aka D. A., Dä) is an American Christian rock band formed in 1974 by Terry Scott Taylor on guitars and vocals, Marty Dieckmeyer on bass guitar, Steve Baxter (musician), Steve Baxter on guitars and Jerry Chamberlain on lead guitars. The band currently consists of Taylor, guitarist Greg Flesch and drummer Ed McTaggart. Over the band's career, they have included keyboardist Mark Cook, drummer Alex MacDougall, bassist Tim Chandler and keyboardist Rob Watson (musician), Rob Watson with sounds that experimented with country rock, rock music, rock, New wave music, new wave and alternative rock. ''Darn Floor - Big Bite'' is the eighth studio album by Christian alternative rock band Daniel Amos, issued on Frontline Records in 1987. It is their first album following the completion of their '' ¡Alarma! Chronicles'' album cycle, and was issued under their shortened moniker Da. Background Daniel Amos followed the '' ¡Alarma! Chronicles'' four-part album series with this release, the title of which came from an incident involving Koko the gorilla, who had been trained to understand limited amounts of American Sign Language. Koko reacted to an earthquake with the words, "Darn darn floor bad bite. Trouble trouble." Greg Flesch (born 1960) is an American guitarist and musician, best known for his work with the rock bands Daniel Amos and The Swirling Eddies (credited as Gene Pool). Flesch joined D.A. in 1984, just in time for the ''Vox Humana'' tour. Lost Dogs are an American musical supergroup formed in 1991, comprising vocalists, songwriters, and guitarists from multiple Christian alternative rock bands.
