Kalenga Riziki Lwango II
Kalenga Riziki Lwango II was born in Kamituga, Democratic Republic of the Congo on 2 July 1974. He is the ruling King (''Mwami'') of Chefferie des Basile since his enthronement in 2011. He is from the Alenga dynasty, which reigns over the eastern Lega people. Early life and education He did his primary and secondary studies in the city of Kinshasa, respectively at the Sainte Thérèse school in Kinshasa (TENAFEP 1986) and at the Institut du 24 Novembre (State diploma in 1992). Holder of a bachelor from the Free University of the Great Lakes Countries (2000), he completed his academic studies at the Official University of Goma (2003) at the Faculty of Law. Kamituga
Kamituga is a mining town in the Mwenga Territory, South Kivu Province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is located on the east of the Bulega mining region and the western slope of the Mitumba mountain range. As of 2012, it had an estimated population of 13,995. History Gold deposits in the Kamituga region were first discovered in the 1920s with the discovery of alluvial gold in the Luliaba, Mobale, Kahushimira, Kamakundu and Idoka rivers, but no commercial gold exploitation really had started until the 1930s when Belgian company '' Minière des Grands Lacs Africains'' (MGL) or Great Lakes Mining Company started commercial gold exploitation. Lega People
The Lega people (or Warega) are a Bantu ethnic group of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 1998 their population was about 250,000. Location By the 1970s Lega people were mostly living in the middle and upper Elila valley and the upper Ulindi River valley. These rivers both rise in the east of South Kivu and flow in a northwesterly direction through Maniema, joining the Lualaba downstream from Kindu.
