Kalaw District
Kalaw District () is a district in Shan State, Myanmar. It was split from Taunggyi District on 30 April 2022 and contains three townships. Its district seat is Kalaw. Popular tourist sites, Inle Lake and Inlay Lake Wetland Sanctuary lies in this district. Kalaw
Kalaw (; Shan: ) is a hill town in the Shan State of Myanmar. It is the capital of Kalaw District and Kalaw Township. Overview The town was popular with the British during colonial rule. Kalaw is the main setting of the novel ''Das Herzenhören'' by Jan-Philipp Sendker. The hill station is located at an elevation of 1310 metres, 50 km from the Inle lake. Kalaw is famous for hiking and trekking. Many trekking trails ranging from nearby places to Inle Lake and Pindaya. Taunggyi District () is a Districts of Myanmar, district in South Shan State in eastern Myanmar. The principal town and administrative center is Taunggyi. The district has 2 townships. Inlay Lake Wetland Sanctuary
Inlay Lake Wetland Sanctuary is a protected area in Myanmar's Shan State, covering an area of surrounding Inle Lake. It ranges in elevation from , stretching over Nyaungshwe, Pinlaung and Pekon Townships. It was gazetted in 1985 to protect habitats for migratory birds. In 2003, it was designated as one of the ASEAN Heritage Parks, and in 2015 as the first Biosphere Reserve in the country. 255 woodland birds, 90 wetland birds, 59 fish species, 3 turtle species, 94 butterfly species, 25 amphibian and reptile species, and several plant species including 184 orchid and 12 algae species are recorded in this wetland. Nyaungshwe Township ( (); Shan language, Shan: ) is a Townships of Myanmar, township of Kalaw District in Shan State, Myanmar. It is located south of Sakangyi, Taunggyi, Sakangyi and south-west of Taunggyi. The township contains one town, the principal town of Nyaungshwe and 35 village tracts, comprising 8 urban wards and 445 villages in total. Pekon Township
Pekon Township (; also spelled Pekhon, Phekhon, Pekong, Pecong, Pékon) is a township of Kalaw District in the Shan State of Myanmar. The principal town is Pekon. The largest settlement in the township is Mobye, a village tract in the east of the township. Part of a popular tourist place and bird watching site, Inle Lake and Inlay Lake Wetland Sanctuary, lies in this township.
