Kaizers Orchestra
Kaizers Orchestra is a Norwegian alternative rock band formed in Bergen on 1 January 2000. They are notable for being among the first non- black-metal Norwegian artists singing in their native language to become popular beyond Scandinavia. In 2012, the group announced that following a 2013 "Farewell Tour", they would take a long break. Their final concert was held on 14 September 2013 at DNB Arena in Stavanger, and was also streamed live online. In November 2022, following weeks of teasers and speculation, the band confirmed a reunion and comeback tour scheduled for 2023. History Formation and early years (1995–2004) In 1998, childhood friends Janove Ottesen and Geir Zahl released their only album by their band gnom called ''Mys''. Of its 1000 copies, only 500 or so were sold the first year. The Spellemannprisen (also referred to as the Norwegian Grammy Awards) is a Norwegian music award ceremony presented by International Federation of the Phonographic Industry#Local associations, IFPI Norge and :no:FONO, FONO. Mark Howard (producer)
Mark Howard (born June 8, 1964 in Manchester, England) is a Canadian record producer, engineer, and mixer, who has worked with artists including Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, The Tragically Hip, Lucinda Williams, Willie Nelson, Marianne Faithfull, Emmylou Harris, U2, Peter Gabriel, R.E.M., Neil Young, Kaizers Orchestra and The Neville Brothers. Career Howard began his career in Hamilton, Ontario, mixing shows in local clubs, and touring across Canada with King Biscuit Boy. After a motorbike accident which left him unable to lift heavy equipment, he began working as an assistant at Grant Avenue Studios. In 1986, while working at Grant Avenue Studio, he met Daniel Lanois and began working on his solo album, '' Acadie''. Lanois invited him to New Orleans to help set up a studio and begin work on The Neville Brothers album '' Yellow Moon'', beginning a 23-year-long musical partnership. Documenta
Documenta (often stylized documenta) is an Art exhibition, exhibition of contemporary art which takes place every five years in Kassel, Germany. Documenta was founded by artist, teacher and curator Arnold Bode in 1955 as part of the Bundesgartenschau (Federal Horticultural Show) which took place in Kassel at that time. It was an attempt to bring Germany up to speed with modern art, both banishing and repressing the cultural darkness of Nazism. This first Documenta featured many artists who are generally considered to have had a significant influence on modern art (such as Pablo Picasso, Picasso and Wassily Kandinsky, Kandinsky). The more recent editions of the event feature artists based across the world, but much of the art is Site-specific art, site-specific. Sziget Festival
Sziget Festival (, ) is one of the largest music and cultural festivals in Europe. It is held every August in northern Budapest, Hungary, on Óbudai-sziget ("Old Buda Island"), a leafy 108-hectare (266-acre) island on the Danube. More than 1,000 performances take place each year. The week-long festival has grown from a relatively low-profile student event in 1993 to become one of the prominent European rock festivals, with about half of all visitors coming from outside Hungary, especially from Western Europe.
