Kaitlyn Grace Torpey (born 17 March 2000) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a full-back, wingback, or winger for Portland Thorns FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the Australia national team. Torpey has previously played for San Diego Wave FC and Australian clubs Melbourne City FC,Brisbane Roar FC, and Preston Lions FC. Early life Born and raised in Brisbane, Queensland, Torpey attended Cavendish Road State High School throughout her younger years. She started playing soccer at the age of nine, having previously ventured into field hockey. Youth career Olympic FC In 2013, Torpey started her youth career playing for the U-13's Olympic FC Girls. NWSL Fall Series
The 2020 National Women's Soccer League season was the eighth season of the National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in the United States. Including the NWSL's two professional predecessors, Women's Professional Soccer (2009–2011) and the Women's United Soccer Association (2001–2003), it was the 14th overall season of FIFA and USSF-sanctioned top division women's soccer in the United States. The league was operated by the United States Soccer Federation and received major financial backing from that body. Further financial backing was provided by the Canadian Soccer Association.
