Kagiso
Kagiso is a township situated at the southern end of the Mogale City Local Municipality, just south of Krugersdorp in Gauteng Province, South Africa. The word ''kagiso'' means peace in Tswana. Kagiso's administration comprises five wards, each headed by a councillor. History Kagiso was established in 1920 by ex-miners and squatters from nearby Luipaardsvlei. By 1950, there were about 3 436 people in the Luipaardsvlei Township, an area of only 47 morgen, until another new township - Lewisham - was laid out to the south-east of Krugersdorp. Demographics Setswana is the most spoken language in Kagiso. There is considerable migration into the area from the rural areas, with people seeking work in nearby Krugersdorp and Chamdor. Nomvula Mokonyane
Nomvula Paula Mokonyane (born 28 June 1963) is a South African politician who is currently the First Deputy Secretary-General of the African National Congress (ANC). She was the first female Premier of Gauteng from 2009 to 2014 and subsequently served in the Government of South Africa, national government as Minister of Water and Sanitation (South Africa), Minister of Water and Sanitation from 2014 to 2018, Minister of Communications (South Africa), Minister of Communications in 2018, and Minister of Environmental Affairs from 2018 to 2019. Township (South Africa)
In South Africa, the terms township and location usually refers to an underdevelopment, under-developed, racial segregation, racially segregated urban area, urban area, from the late 19th century until the end of apartheid, were reserved for non-whites, namely Bantu peoples in South Africa, Black Africans, Coloureds and South African Indians, Indians. Pitso John Hamilton Mosimane (born 26 July 1964) is a South African former professional football player and current coach. Club career Mosimane started his senior career at Jomo Cosmos, then he played for Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, before joining Greek club Ionikos to play under coach Nikos Alefantos. He later joined Belgian team KFC Rita Berlaar and Qatari club Al Sadd. Frank Chikane (born 3 January 1951 in Bushbuckridge, Transvaal) is a South African civil servant, writer and cleric. He is a member of the African National Congress and moderator of the Commission of the Churches on International Affairs for the World Council of Churches (WCC). Early life and education Chikane was born to James and Erenia Chikane and he grew up in Soweto attending Naledi High School. As the son of a preacher in the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa (AFM), a South African Pentecostal church, Chikane was able to receive an education. After finishing high school, Chikane attended the University of the North to study sciences in hopes of becoming a physician. Krugersdorp
Krugersdorp (Afrikaans for ''Kruger's Town'') is a mining city in the West Rand, Gauteng Province, South Africa founded in 1887 by Marthinus Pretorius and Abner Cohen. Following the discovery of gold on the Witwatersrand, a need arose for a major town in the west of the reef. The government bought part of the Paardekraal farm and named the new town after the Transvaal president, Paul Kruger. Krugersdorp no longer has a separate municipal government after it was integrated into Mogale City Local Municipality along with surrounding towns. It is now the seat of government for Mogale City. Zenande Mfenyana (born 11 October 1985) is a South African model and actress. She is known for portraying Noluntu Memela on SABC 1's '' Generations''. Early life and education Mfenyana was born in 1985 in Johannesburg, then moved to the Eastern Cape in Queenstown where she completed her matric at Queenstown Girls' High School. Mogale City Local Municipality (; ; ) is a local municipality within the West Rand District Municipality, in the Gauteng province of South Africa. Main places The 2001 census divided the municipality into the following main places: Politics The municipal council consists of seventy-seven members elected by mixed-member proportional representation.
