Kadavil Malika
Kadavil Malika is a historic place in India, associated with the origin of the Maramon Convention. It is a house in Kallissery on the banks of River Pamba and was built by Unnittan Kathanar (1767–1852) and his son Abraham Kathanar (1822–1884) also known as Kadavil Achen, in the early 19th century. By 1877, there were two factions in the Malankara Church, known as ''Methran Kakshi'' and ''Bava Kakshi''. By a court verdict on 12 July 1889, Methran Kakshi lost all the properties. Just before the verdict was given, on 5 September 1888, 12 members of the Methran Kakshi formed a missionary group called " Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association." This Missionary Movement was started in the wake of the Reformation Movement pioneered by Abraham Malpan, often known as "the Martin Luther of the East". Maramon Convention
The Maramon Convention, a Christian convention in Asia, is held at Maramon, Pathanamthitta, Kerala, India annually in February on the vast sand-bed of the Pampa River next to the Kozhencherry Bridge. It is organised by Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association, the missionary wing of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church. The origin and growth of this annual get-together for one week at a stretch can be traced to the great revival movement which gathered momentum during the reformation period in the Syrian Churches of Kerala under the pioneering leadership of Abraham Malpan in the latter part of the 19th century. This brought about the transformation in resurgence of the ancient apostolic Churches in Kerala founded by St. Thomas the Apostle approximately in AD 52. Marthoma Church
The Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church, often shortened to Mar Thoma Church, and known also as the Reformed Syrian ChurchS. N. Sadasivan. A Social History of India'. Kallissery
Kallissery (; ) is a small town in Chengannur Taluk of Alappuzha district of Kerala, India. Location Kallissery is a town on the MC ROAD part of the Thiruvanvandoor village in the district of Alleppey and is a prominent area of local business. Kallissery is in the Thiruvanvandoor Panchayatu. It is part of the Chengannur legislative assembly constituency. It was famous for its local markets. The old bridge was built during the British period across the river pampa was recently closed and a new wider bridge was built for traffic along MC Road. Malankara Church
The Malankara Church, also known as ''Puthenkur'' and more popularly as Jacobite Syrians, is the historic unified body of West Syriac Saint Thomas Christian denominations which claim ultimate origins from the missions of Thomas the Apostle. This community, under the leadership of Thoma I, opposed the ''Padroado'' Jesuits as well as the ''Propaganda'' Carmelites of the Latin Church, following the historical Coonan Cross Oath of 1653.
