Kacper Piorun
Kacper Piorun (born 24 November 1991) is a Polish chess player who received the FIDE title of Grandmaster (GM) in September 2012. He is a five-time winner of the World Chess Solving Championship, and two-time winner of the Polish Chess Championship. Career In 2007, Piorun won the Polish under-16 chess championship in Łeba. In 2009, he finished third in the World Youth Chess Championship. In 2010, he won the Rubinstein Memorial in Polanica-Zdrój. In 2013, he won the Polish Blitz Chess Championship in Bydgoszcz. In 2015, Piorun took clear first place at the 17th Open of Sants, Hostafrancs & La Bordeta in Barcelona and at the 19th Open International Bavarian Chess Championship in Bad Wiessee. Łowicz
Łowicz is a town in central Poland with 27,896 inhabitants (2020). It is situated in the Łódź Voivodeship (since 1999); previously, it was in Skierniewice Voivodeship (1975–1998). Together with a nearby station of Bednary, Łowicz is a major rail junction of central Poland, where the line from Warsaw splits into two directions - towards Poznań, and Łódź. Ferenc Berkes (born 8 August 1985) is a Hungarian chess grandmaster. He is an eight-time Hungarian Chess Champion, winning in 2004, 2007, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2018. David Antón Guijarro
David Antón Guijarro (born 23 June 1995) is a Spanish chess grandmaster. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2013, at the age of 18. He has competed at two Chess Olympiads. Chess career Antón Guijarro won the Spanish championship eight times in various age groups and formats. He took the bronze medal at the 2012 European Youth Chess Championships, held in Prague, in the U16 category; the next year, he took silver in the World Youth Chess Championships in Al Ain in the U18 section. European Individual Chess Championship
The European Individual Chess Championship is a chess tournament organised by the European Chess Union. It was established in 2000 and has since then taken place on a yearly basis. Apart from determining the European champions (open and women's), another objective of this tournament is to determine a number of players who qualify for the FIDE World Cup and the knockout Women's World Championship. Mode of play The event consists of two separate tournaments; an open event, and a women's event. Female players may participate in the open section. Both are a Swiss system tournament, with a varying number of rounds.
