KZTP (104.3 FM, "104.3 The Bridge") is a radio station in Worthington, Minnesota (licensed to Sibley, Iowa). Owned by Radio Works, LLC through licensee Absolute Communications, LLC, it broadcasts a Christian music format. History The station first signed on the air in 2008 with a regional mexican format with the KIMZ call letters. It flipped to a country format as "US 104" with the KUSQ call letters in 2009, which competed against Luverne-based KLQL. After the station's parent company, Absolute Communications, purchased Three Eagles Communications stations in Worthington, the KUSQ format and call letters were moved to the 100,000 watt 95.1 FM signal. On January 5, 2012, KUSQ changed their format to Top 40/CHR, branded as ''104.3 The Party'' with the KZTP call letters. KUSQ (95.1 FM, "US 95") is a radio station broadcasting a country music format serving the Worthington, Minnesota area. The station is currently owned by Radio Works, LLC through licensee Absolute Communications II, LLC. History The station signed on with the KWOA-FM call letters in May 1961. It was the only 100 kilowatt FM station on the air between Mankato, Minnesota and Sioux City, Iowa. The station was always programmed separately from its sister AM station with the exception of some simulcast newscasts. Its format was Beautiful Music as "Stereo 95" until May 1980 when it switched to Adult Contemporary as "FM 95". The station renamed itself as "KO95" in 1985 retaining its Adult Contemporary format. Three Eagles Communications purchased the Worthington radio station group in 1999. History KITN carried a country music format until 2002, when it flipped to classic hits as "93.5 The Eagle". Three Eagles Communications, which recently purchased KITN, KWOA and KWOA-FM (now KUSQ), also owned Luverne based KLQL "K101", which also carried a country format. Sibley, Iowa
Sibley is a city in Osceola County, Iowa, United States. The population was 2,860 at the time of the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Osceola County. Hawkeye Point, the highest point in the State of Iowa, is also nearby. History Sibley had its start in the year 1872 by the construction of the Sioux City & St. Paul Railroad through that territory. It is the oldest town in Osceola County. Sibley is named after Henry Hastings Sibley, a prominent general during the Dakota War of 1862, who eventually became the first governor of Minnesota. Marshall is a city in Lyon County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 13,680 at the 2010 census. Marshall is a regional center in southwest Minnesota, and the county seat of Lyon County. It is the headquarters of the Schwan Food Company and the home of Southwest Minnesota State University. History Marshall was platted in 1872 when the railroad was extended to that point. Hits Now! is a 24-hour music format produced by Dial Global. Its playlist is composed of mostly Top 40 (CHR) music from artists such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Ke$ha, The Black Eyed Peas, and Usher among others, that mainly targets listeners ages 18–49. Hits Now! is the only 24-hour CHR/Top 40 music format currently offered via satellite in the United States; Cumulus Media offers a Hot AC format, and Dial Global offers two (one Total and one Local). Westwood One is an American radio network owned by Cumulus Media. The company syndicates talk, music, and sports programming. The company takes its name from an earlier network also named Westwood One, a company founded in 1978. The company was, at various times, managed by CBS Radio, the radio arm of CBS Corporation and Viacom. It was later purchased by the private equity firm The Gores Group before merging with Dial Global in 2011. In December 2013, Dial Global was, in turn, acquired by Cumulus Media. Prior to the sale's completion, Dial Global re-assumed the Westwood One name.
