KXTX-TV
KXTX-TV (channel 39) is a television station licensed to Dallas, Texas, United States, serving as the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex with programming from the Spanish-language network Telemundo. It is owned and operated by NBCUniversal's Telemundo Station Group alongside NBC outlet KXAS-TV (channel 5). The two stations share studios at the CentrePort Business Park in Fort Worth; KXTX-TV's transmitter is located in Cedar Hill, Texas. Channel 39 in Dallas began broadcasting as KDTV on February 5, 1968. It was built by Doubleday Broadcasting Co., a subsidiary of publisher Doubleday (publisher), Doubleday and Company, and operated as an English-language independent station emphasizing business news and sports coverage. KMEC-TV
KMEC-TV (channel 33) was a television station licensed to Dallas, Texas, United States, which served the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The station broadcast in two stints, from 1967 to 1968 as KMEC-TV (owned by Maxwell Electronics Corporation) and in 1972 as KBFI-TV (owned by Berean Fellowship International). The station struggled in both incarnations and was ultimately sold to the Christian Broadcasting Network in 1973. CBN relaunched the station as KXTX-TV that April, but KXTX-TV remained on channel 33 for just seven months; that November, after CBN bought the assets, programming inventory and license of KDTV (channel 39), it moved KXTX to that channel. Telemundo Station Group is the division of NBCUniversal Owned TV Stations (NBCUniversal), a subsidiary of Comcast that oversees their Telemundo owned-and-operated television stations and the TeleXitos network. The NBC owned-and-operated stations are held in the separate NBC Owned Television Stations division. KFWD (channel 52) is a television station licensed to Fort Worth, Texas, United States, serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Owned by WRNN-TV Associates, it airs programming from Shop LC. KFWD's offices are located in Coppell, and its transmitter is located in Cedar Hill, Texas.
