KXOT (106.3 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Los Lunas, New Mexico, and serving the Albuquerque metropolitan area. It airs a Regional Mexican radio format branded as "La Mexicana 106.3". It is owned by Vanguard Media with studios and offices on San Pedro Drive NE at Marble Avenue in Albuquerque. Los Lunas is a village in Valencia County, New Mexico, Valencia County, New Mexico, United States. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the village has a population of 17,242. It is the county seat of Valencia County. Los Lunas is part of the Albuquerque metropolitan area, Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area. KLVO (97.7 MHz) is an FM radio station serving Central New Mexico. It is licensed to Belen, New Mexico, and is owned by American General Media. Its studios are located in Northeast Albuquerque, and its transmitter is located west of Los Lunas, New Mexico. KLVO broadcasts a New Mexico music and regional Mexican format branded as "Radio Lobo". In North American broadcasting, a local marketing agreement (LMA), or local management agreement, is a contract in which one corporation, company agrees to operate a radio station, radio or television station owned by another party. In essence, it is a sort of lease or time-buy. Under Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations, a local marketing agreement must give the company operating the station (the "senior" partner) under the agreement control over the entire facilities of the station, including the finances, personnel and programming of the station. A call sign can be formally assigned by a government agency, informally adopted by individuals or organizations, or even cryptographically encoded to disguise a station's identity. The use of call signs as unique identifiers dates to the landline railroad telegraph system.
