KTTU (TV)
KTTU-TV (channel 18) is a television station in Tucson, Arizona, United States, affiliated with The CW and MyNetworkTV. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside Fox affiliate KMSB (channel 11); Tegna maintains a shared services agreement (SSA) with Gray Media, owner of CBS affiliate KOLD-TV (channel 13), for the provision of studio space and technical services while maintaining control of programming and sales. The three stations share studios on North Business Park Drive on the northwest side of Tucson (near the Casas Adobes neighborhood); KTTU-TV's transmitter is located atop Mount Bigelow. Channel 18 was built by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson and began broadcasting at the end of 1984 as KDTU. The station, intended as a family-friendly outlet, proved to be a popular—but commercial—independent station, as well as a boondoggle for the diocese, which lost $15 million between 1984 and 1989 and unloaded it at a loss to Clear Channel Communications. KTVK (channel 3) is an independent television station in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. It is owned by Gray Media alongside CBS affiliate KPHO-TV (channel 5) and low-power station KPHE-LD (channel 44), a grouping known as "Arizona's Family". The three stations share studios on North Seventh Avenue in Uptown Phoenix; KTVK's transmitter is located on South Mountain on the city's south side. The station's signal is relayed across northern Arizona on a network of translator stations. KTVK signed on in 1955 as the fourth and last commercial VHF station in Phoenix. Manuel Duran Moreno (November 27, 1930 – November 17, 2006) was an American bishop of the Roman Catholic Church. He was the sixth Bishop of Tucson. Biography Bishop Moreno was born in Placentia, California, to Antonio and Enedina Moreno. His father was a worker in the citrus and walnut groves that surrounded Placentia and nearby Fullerton, and young Manuel often worked with him in the groves. Bishop Moreno graduated from Fullerton Junior College and UCLA where, in 1953, he received a degree in business administration. It was during his years at UCLA that he began to consider the possibility of becoming a priest of the Roman Catholic Church. KHRR (channel 40) is a television station in Tucson, Arizona, United States, serving as the market's outlet for the Spanish-language network Telemundo. Owned and operated by NBCUniversal's Telemundo Station Group, the station maintains studios on North Stone Avenue in downtown Tucson, and its transmitter is located atop the Tucson Mountains. Although identifying as a separate station in its own right, KHRR is considered a semi-satellite of KTAZ (channel 39) in Phoenix.
