KSPR-TV (Wyoming)
KSPR-TV, VHF analog channel 6, was a CBS-affiliated television station in Casper, Wyoming, United States, between 1957 and 1959. The station was owned by radio station KSPR (1470 AM). The station closed as a result of competition from a local cable system; it would be more than 20 years before a second commercial station opened in Casper. History The station went on the air August 12, 1957 as a CBS affiliate, matching the radio station, the only CBS radio outlet in the state of Wyoming. Coinciding with the launch of the television station, KSPR radio and TV moved into new quarters on East Second Street. By July 1959, reports were circulating that KSPR-TV would close before year's end, and the fuel on the fire only accelerated when Rocky Mountain Tele Stations, owner of KTWO-TV (channel 2), announced it would buy KSPR radio from their common owner, Don Hathaway, for $150,000. KTWO's towers are located east of Casper. KTWO (1030 kHz) is an American AM radio station licensed to Casper, Wyoming. KTWO broadcasts a 50,000 watt signal from a two-tower facility located east of Casper near Hat Six Road. The station features several talk shows such as '' The Glenn Beck Program'', ''The Sean Hannity Show'', ''Coast to Coast AM''. KTWO is also very well known for its news department. It features short news broadcasts throughout the day, as well as a half-hour nightly news program entitled "Wyoming Tonight." In addition the station also offers news broadcasts from Fox News Radio. KHME (channel 23) is a television station in Rapid City, South Dakota, United States, affiliated with the classic television network MeTV. It is owned by Gray Television alongside ABC affiliate KOTA-TV (channel 3) and low-power Fox affiliate KEVN-LD (channel 7). The stations share studios on Skyline Drive in Rapid City, where KHME's transmitter is also located. KHME also operates a full-power satellite in Lead, South Dakota, KQME (channel 10), which can also be seen over-the-air in Rapid City. KQME's transmitter is located atop Terry Peak. Riverton, Wyoming
Riverton is a city in Fremont County, Wyoming, United States. The city's population was 10,682 at the 2020 census, making it the largest city in the county. History The city, founded in 1906, is an incorporated entity of the state of Wyoming. The community was named Riverton because of the four rivers that meet there. The town was built on land ceded from the Wind River Indian Reservation, a situation that often makes it subject to jurisdictional claims by the nearby Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes. A legal ruling on November 7, 2017, by the 10th Circuit Court, ruled again in the EPA reservation boundary dispute. Though the decision was complex, the 10th Circuit Court answered plainly. Wyoming PBS (formerly known as Wyoming Public Television) is the PBS member network in the U.S. state of Wyoming. Casper College is a public community college in Casper, Wyoming. It is one of the largest and most comprehensive community colleges in the region. Established in 1945 as Wyoming's first junior college and initially located on the third floor of Natrona County High School, Casper College moved to its current site 10 years later.
