KRNA (94.1 FM) is a classic rock-formatted radio station licensed to Iowa City, Iowa. The station is currently owned by Townsquare Media. History In 1971, a group of University of Iowa students formed a company known as Communicators Inc. of Iowa that aimed "to put together a radio station with a major market sound in what was basically a small-to-medium market." KZIA, known as "Z 102.9", is a radio station based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. KFMW (107.9 FM), known as "Rock 108", is a radio station licensed to Waterloo, Iowa with studios in Hiawatha, Iowa. The station has an active rock format. Its signal is transmitted from the AFLAC Tower north of Rowley, Iowa. History KFMW came on the air in November 1968 as KWWL-FM and was originally owned by Black Hawk Broadcasting Company of Waterloo. ''The Gazette'' is a daily print newspaper published in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The newspaper is distributed throughout northeastern and east-central Iowa, including the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City metropolitan areas. It was formerly called ''The Cedar Rapids Gazette''. As of September 2019, ''The Gazette'' has a circulation of 32,616 for the daily edition and 37,860 for the Sunday edition. History The ''Evening Gazette'' was first published on January 10, 1883.
