KRI Clurit (641)
KRI ''Clurit'' (641) is a of the Indonesian Navy. She was commissioned in 2011 and was the lead ship in her class. Characteristics ''Clurit'' has a displacement of 250 tonnes, a length of 43 meters, and a draft of 7.4 meters. She is equipped with C-705 missiles launchers, a 30mm gun, and two 20mm guns, alongside AK-630M CIWS. Service history ''Clurit'' was built by PT Palindo Marine based in Batam, as part of an order for four similar ships. She contained around 45 percent locally manufactured parts, and costed around US$ 8 million. She was commissioned on 25 April 2011 by Minister of Defense Purnomo Yusgiantoro, and she was assigned to the Western Fleet Command (''Koarmabar''). The lead ship, name ship, or class leader is the first of a series or class of ships all constructed according to the same general design. The term is applicable to naval ships and large civilian vessels. Large ships are very complex and may take as many as five to ten years to build. Improvements based on experience with building and operating the lead ship are likely to be incorporated into the design or construction of later ships in the class, so it is rare to have vessels that are identical. C-704
The C-704 is a Chinese anti-ship missile. The missile was developed by the third research institute of the Chinese Aerospace Group, also the manufacturer of the C-701. Design This anti-ship missile is designed specifically for targets with displacement between 1,000 tons to 4,000 tons. Neither small anti-ship missiles such as the TL-6 and C-701 nor large ones such as the C-802 and Silkworm missile are cost effective when used for this purpose. Development In order to speed up the development and reduce risks, the developer adopted technologies from the C-701. The resulting new missile appears as an enlarged version of the C-701, with larger warhead. AK-630
The AK-630 is a Soviet and Russian fully automatic naval, rotary cannon, close-in weapon system. The "630" designation refers to the weapon's six gun barrels and their 30 mm caliber. The system is mounted in an enclosed automatic turret and directed by MR-123 radar and television detection and tracking. The weapon's primary purpose is defense against aircraft and helicopters. Effectiveness against anti-ship missiles and other precision-guided weapons is limited due to the limitations of the radar and aiming system and due to the dispersion of a short-barreled gun. A close-in weapon system (CIWS ) is a point-defense weapon system for detecting and destroying short-range incoming missiles and enemy aircraft which have penetrated the outer defenses, typically mounted on a naval ship. Nearly all classes of larger modern warships are equipped with some kind of CIWS device. There are two types of CIWS systems.
