Chicago Rockford International Airport — typically referred to as Rockford International Airport, Chicago Rockford, or by its IATA call letters, RFD — is a commercial airport in Rockford, Illinois, located northwest of Chicago., effective April 26, 2018 Established in 1946, the airport was built on the grounds of the former Camp Grant facility, which served as one of the largest training facilities for the U.S. Army during both World Wars. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2023–2027 categorized it as a non-hub primary commercial service facility. KRFD (100.1 FM) is an American radio station licensed to serve Fleming, Colorado, United States. The station is owned by Alexander and Christine Creighton, through licensee Northeast Colorado Broadcasting, LLC. Programming KRFD broadcasts a Christian contemporary format, including programming from the K-LOVE radio network, to the Sterling Micropolitan Statistical Area. History In July 2007, Kona Coast Radio applied to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for a construction permit for a new broadcast radio station to serve Arriba, Colorado. The FCC granted this permit on November 4, 2008, with a scheduled expiration date of November 4, 2011. The new station was assigned call sign "KMAP" on December 12, 2008.
