KFMX-FM (94.5 Hertz, MHz) is a radio station broadcasting a mainstream rock format. Licensed to Lubbock, Texas, United States. The station is currently owned by Townsquare Media. Its studios and transmitter are located in south Lubbock. History The station signed on as KLBK-FM in August 1966 with 100,000 watts. It was founded by Grayson Enterprises, Inc. as an automated station. KZII-FM
KZII-FM (102.5 MHz), known as "102-5 Kiss FM" is a top 40 (CHR) formatted radio station serving Lubbock, Texas. The station is owned by Townsquare Media. Its studios and transmitter are located in south Lubbock. History KZII went on air on April 15, 1948 as KFYO-FM. According to Jack Dale, it signed off a few years later (in 1950) after limited use. From the 1950 edition of Broadcasting Yearbook KFYO-FM broadcast on 99.5 FM (now the present-day KQBR-FM, Lonestar 99.5) at 13,000 watts of power. Then in mid-March 1982 the station was back on the air as KRUX. Studios were on the third floor of the Plains Bank building at 5010 50th, and the transmitter was at 98th and University (the KJTV tower). Station featured "six packs" of country music. KFYO (790 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Lubbock, Texas. It airs a news/talk radio format and is owned by Townsquare Media. Its studios are on 82nd Street in southwest Lubbock. KFYO transmits 5,000 watts daytime; to protect other stations on 790 kHz from interference, at night it reduces power to 1,000 watts. It uses a directional antenna with a three-tower array. The transmitter is off Slide Road at 146th Street in Lubbock. Programming is also heard on 250-watt FM translator K236CP on 95.1 MHz in Lubbock. KKAM (1340 AM), branded as "Talk 103.9 and 1340", is a radio station broadcasting a news/talk/sports format. Licensed to Lubbock, Texas, United States. The station is currently owned by Townsquare Media. Its studios are located in south Lubbock, and its transmitter is in Klapp Park southwest of downtown. History KKAM signed on in second-half of 1953 as a Class IV AM station with the call letters KDUB, co-owned with Lubbock television station KDUB-TV (channel 13, now KLBK-TV).
