KLFF (89.3 FM, "Family Life Radio 89.3") is a non-commercial radio station that is licensed to and serves San Luis Obispo, California. The station is owned by Family Life Broadcasting and broadcasts the contemporary Christian music format of the nationally syndicated Family Life Radio network. History KLFF was first signed on September 3, 1995 by Logos Broadcasting Corporation. From the beginning, KLFF aired a contemporary Christian music format branded as "K-Life". In January 2015, KLFF was rebranded from "K-Life" to "Life 89.3". In May 2016, Logos Broadcasting sold KLFF to Family Life Broadcasting for $400,000. On August 20, the new owner flipped the station to its Family Life Radio network, originating from KFLT-FM in Tucson, Arizona. KLFH KLFF was formerly rebroadcast on repeater KLFH in Ojai, California on 89.5 FM, covering the Oxnard— Ventura area. KIHC (890 AM) is a non-commercial radio station that is licensed to Arroyo Grande, California and broadcasts to the San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria, California areas. The station is owned by Relevant Radio, Inc. and broadcasts the Roman Catholic talk and teaching format of its nationally syndicated Relevant Radio network. History The station first signed on September 1, 2002, as KLFF. The commercial station, owned by Jerry J. Collins, broadcast a Christian talk and teaching format and was branded "K-Life". After years of financial difficulties, KLFF went off the air on November 1, 2012. Collins, who had been leasing the station to the previous management, donated the station's license to IHR Educational Broadcasting. The tangible property was transferred for $1 and the station was converted to non-commercial educational status. KPXQ
KPXQ (1360 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station, airing a Christian talk and teaching radio format. It is licensed to Glendale, Arizona, and serves the Phoenix metropolitan area. It is owned by Salem Media Group with studios on East Camelback Road in Phoenix. By day, KPXQ is powered at 50,000 watts non-directional, the highest output for commercial AM stations. But to protect other stations on 1360 AM from interference, at night it reduces power to 500 watts and uses a directional antenna. The transmitter is on also on Camelback Road, but at a different location near North 73rd Avenue. Programming KPXQ is a brokered programming station. Hosts buy time on the station and may use their shows to seek donations to their ministries.
