KLAV (1230 AM) is a commercial radio station located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Owned by Lotus Communications, the station airs a betting-focused all-sports radio format featuring programming from the locally-based Vegas Stats & Information Network and programming from SportsMap. Its studios are located in the unincorporated community of Spring Valley in Clark County and its transmitter is located in North Las Vegas. History KLAV ran a middle-of-the-road (MOR) format until the late 1970s. In early 1979, at the peak of the disco craze, the station endeared itself "Disco 1-2-3 KLAV". KLAV evolved into a Top 40 format in the early 1980 under then program director Ted Ziegenbusch. KOMP (92.3 MHz) is a class-C FM radio station licensed to Las Vegas, Nevada. KOMP broadcasts an active rock music format. Its studios are in the unincorporated community of Spring Valley in Clark County and its transmitter is on Potosi Mountain southwest of the Las Vegas Valley. KOMP broadcasts in HD Radio. The station is owned by Lotus Communications and broadcasts a Spanish-language adult hits format. The KWID studios are located in the unincorporated community of Spring Valley in Clark County and its transmitter is on Black Mountain in Henderson. Programming includes the UNLV Rebels football and men's basketball teams, the Las Vegas Aces, ESPN Radio talk shows and play-by-play, and various local talk shows. Its studios are located in the unincorporated community of Spring Valley in Clark County and its transmitter is located in North Las Vegas. Station history KWWN officially signed on in December 2007, and was running tests of its transmitter for several months. These tests were mainly to arrange the nighttime directional signal of the station, so it would not interfere with nearby KNZZ or other stations on 1100 kHz. KENO (1460 kHz) is a Spanish language sports/talk AM radio station in Las Vegas, Nevada owned by Lotus Communications. Its studios are located in the unincorporated community of Spring Valley in Clark County and its transmitter is located northwest of downtown Las Vegas. History KENO, Las Vegas' first successful radio station, was founded in 1941 by Laura Belle and Maxwell Kelch. The Henderson Silver Knights are a professional ice hockey team based in Henderson, Nevada, that began play in the 2020–21 American Hockey League (AHL) season. Spring Valley is an unincorporated town and census-designated place in Clark County, Nevada, United States, located west of the Las Vegas Strip. The population was 215,597 at the 2020 census. Spring Valley was formed in May 1981. History In 1965, the Stardust International Raceway was built by the Stardust Resort and Casino. In 1969, the Stardust was sold to the Parvin-Dohrmann Corporation, which had little interest in the raceway and then leased it until 1970, when Pardee Homes purchased the land. They began developing a master-planned housing community called Spring Valley.
