KKIA@Kimanis refers to a proposed international airport project in Kimanis, Sabah, Malaysia, intended to replace the existing Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA). The proposed location for the new airport is in Kampung Mandahan, Kimanis, Papar, approximately 59 kilometers from Kota Kinabalu. Kimanis
Kimanis (Chinese: 金馬利) is a Malaysian town and a parliamentary constituency of Papar District on the west coast of Sabah. It is located approximately 45 kilometres south of the city of Kota Kinabalu, halfway between Papar and Beaufort. History Kimanis was part of the Brunei Sultanate until the 1800s. During the Brunei Civil War from 1660 to 1673, the Sultan of Brunei at that time, Sultan Muhyiddin offered Kimanis to the Sultan of Sulu for his assistance in ending the war, but Sulu had dishonored the agreement made and Sultan Muhyiddin retracted all promises made to the Sulu Sultanate. Greater Kota Kinabalu refers to the dense clusters of regional populated areas surrounding the city of Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia. It comprises the districts of Kota Kinabalu (also the largest city and capital of Sabah), Penampang District, Penampang, Tuaran District, Tuaran, Papar District, Papar and Putatan District, Putatan. Pan-Borneo Highway
The Pan-Borneo Highway () including the sections now known as the Pan Borneo Expressway, is a controlled-access highway on Borneo Island, connecting two Malaysian states, Sabah and Sarawak, with Brunei. The length of the entire highway is for the Malaysian section, for the Bruneian section. The highway is numbered AH150 in the Asian Highway Network and as Federal Route 1 in Sarawak.
