KJNK-LD, virtual and UHF digital channel 25, is a low-powered Telemundo-affiliated television station licensed to Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States and serving the Twin Cities television market. The station is owned by HC2 Holdings. KJNK-LD's transmitter is located at the IDS Center in downtown Minneapolis. KJNK-LD also serves the Mankato market (via K28OH-D in nearby St. James through the local municipal-operated Cooperative TV (CTV) network of translators), as that area does not have a Telemundo affiliate of its own. History The station began as K58BS upon signing on the air for the first time in 1984 as a local translator for the Trinity Broadcasting Network. The IDS Center is an office skyscraper located at 80 South 8th Street in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Completed in 1972, it is the tallest building in Minneapolis, and the tallest building in the state at a height of . Ultra high frequency (UHF) is the ITU designation for radio frequencies in the range between 300 megahertz (MHz) and 3 gigahertz (GHz), also known as the decimetre band as the wavelengths range from one meter to one tenth of a meter (one decimeter).
