KJJC-TV
KJJC-TV (channel 16) is a television station in Great Falls, Montana, United States, affiliated with MeTV and owned by Northwest Capital Corporation. The station's transmitter is located on 47th Avenue SW in unincorporated Cascade County, near the Great Falls International Airport. Station operations are conducted from a facility in Helena, where KJJC-TV is rebroadcast by commonly owned translator KJJC-LD (channel 7). KJJC-TV began broadcasting in September 1986 as KTGF. It was the third commercial station in Great Falls and an NBC affiliate for 19 years; the station produced local news programming in the late 1980s and early 1990s before canceling the effort in 1993. KTVH-DT
KTVH-DT (channel 12) is a television station in Helena, Montana, United States, affiliated with NBC. It is owned by the E.W. Scripps Company alongside CBS affiliate KXLH-LD (channel 9). The two stations share studios on West Lyndale Avenue in Helena; KTVH-DT's transmitter is located on Hogback Mountain. KTVH-DT operates low-power translator KTGF-LD (channel 50) in Great Falls, where Scripps also owns CBS affiliate KRTV. The only full-service commercial TV station serving Montana's capital city for most of its history, channel 12 came to air in 1958 as KXLJ-TV and struggled through a fight with a competing local cable company, during which it shut down for six months before eventually being purchased by the firm. KFBB-TV (channel 5) is a television station in Great Falls, Montana, United States, affiliated with ABC, Fox and MyNetworkTV. Owned by the Cowles Company, the station maintains studios and transmitter facilities on Old Havre Highway in Black Eagle (with a Great Falls mailing address). KHBB-LD (channel 21) in Helena operates as a semi-satellite of KFBB-TV. As such, it simulcasts all network and syndicated programming as provided through KFBB-TV, but airs separate commercial inserts and legal identifications. KRTV (channel 3) is a television station in Great Falls, Montana, United States, affiliated with CBS. It is owned by the E. W. Scripps Company alongside KTGF-LD (channel 50), the local NBC affiliate, and is part of the Montana Television Network (MTN), a statewide network of CBS-affiliated stations. KRTV's studios and transmitter are located on Old Havre Highway in Black Eagle, Montana, Black Eagle, just outside Great Falls. The Montana Television Network (MTN) is a statewide network of CBS network affiliate, affiliates in the United States, U.S. state of Montana. It also includes one NBC station. All but one of these stations are owned by the E. W. Scripps Company. In addition, MTN owns the Montana Ag Network, which provides farm and ranch reports on television. Established in 1969 in its current form by Montana broadcasting pioneer Joe Sample, MTN was originally conceived as a way to unify Montanans and connect the state's comparatively isolated population centers. Between 1971 and 1986, the MTN stations aired hybrid local/network newscasts that consisted of sections of statewide and local news; this approach was abandoned in favor of producing separate local newscasts in each city. The ''Great Falls Tribune'' is a daily morning newspaper printed in Helena, Montana. It is one of Montana's largest newspaper companies. History The first edition of the newspaper then called the ''Weekly Tribune'' was printed on May 14, 1885. Starting on May 16, 1887, the ''Tribune'' became a daily newspaper.
