History On December 7, 2016, KLXQ was sold from US Stations, LLC to Central Arkansas Radio Group, LLC and changed their format from classic rock branded as "101.9 The Rocket" to classic hits. Mountain Pine, Arkansas
Mountain Pine is a city in Garland County, Arkansas, Garland County, Arkansas, United States. It is part of the Hot Springs, Arkansas, Hot Springs Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 770 at the 2010 United States Census. It is located immediately southeast of Lake Ouachita below the Blakely Mountain Dam. The city consists of five defined neighborhoods, Pinewood (north), South Mountain Pine, a business district (city hall, bank, post office, store), Cozy Acres (southwest) and Mountain View/Timberland area. Mountain Pine was founded as a company town in the late 1920s by Dierks Lumber and Coal Company, which operated a vast lumber mill on the town's east side. Classic hits is a radio format which generally includes songs from the top 40 music charts from the late 1960s to the early 2000s, with music from the 1980s serving as the core of the format. Music that was popularized by MTV in the early 1980s and the nostalgia behind it is a major driver to the format.
