KIPR
KIPR (92.3 FM, "Power 92 Jams") is a commercial radio station carrying an urban contemporary format located in Little Rock, Arkansas and licensed to Pine Bluff. It is owned by Cumulus Media. The station's studios are located in West Little Rock, and the transmitter tower is located in Jefferson, northwest of Pine Bluff. Due to the transmitter location emitting 100 kilowatts, the signal covers most of Central Arkansas including places like Brinkley, North Little Rock, Conway, Gould, Fordyce and Dumas. Station history KIPR airs an urban contemporary format, which was launched in 1988. (Its roots can be traced back to KPWR/Los Angeles due to having KPWR's radio consultant Don Kelly serving as KIPR's programming consultant at the time). KHTE-FM (96.5 MHz) is a commercial mainstream urban radio station broadcasting from Little Rock, Arkansas, United States ( licensed to England). KHTE-FM is currently branded as "96.5 The Box". The station's studios are located in West Little Rock, and the transmitter tower is in Redfield, Arkansas. KHTE-FM, whose previous formats were Rhythmic contemporary and later Urban contemporary known as "Hot 96.5", began switching directions to a 1990s-based Top 40 format in August 2009, only to adopt an Adult Top 40 direction just two weeks after the flip, and by 2011 evolved to Top 40/CHR. The move allowed them to compete more effectively with Top 40 rival KLAL for 18- to 49-year-old female listeners and to counter KLAL's rock-leaning playlist. KARN (920 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Little Rock, Arkansas, owned and operated by Cumulus Media. It airs a sports radio format known as "920 AM The Sports Animal." The station's studios are located on Wellington Hills Road in West Little Rock. The transmitter tower is located off North Hills Boulevard in North Little Rock. KARN broadcasts at 5,000 watts, using a directional antenna at night to avoid interfering with other stations on AM 920. The radio format is adult contemporary music, switching to Christmas music for much of November and December. The radio studios and offices are in Little Rock off Chenal Parkway. Fordyce, Arkansas
Fordyce is a city in southeast Dallas County, Arkansas, United States. Its population has been decreasing since the 1980s when the town reached an all time high of 5,175. The population in 2020 was 3,396 down from 4,300 at the 2010 census, and from 4,799 in 2000. The city is the county seat, home to the 1911 Dallas County Courthouse. Within Fordyce there are 19 sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Fordyce Home Accident Insurance Company. The town was named for Samuel W. Fordyce. History Before European settlement the area was inhabited by the Caddo people, whose artifacts are occasionally found. The land that became Fordyce was partially cleared prior to 1850 by W. W. Dumas ( ) is a city in Desha County, Arkansas, Desha County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 4,706 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census. History In 1870, a planter, merchant and surveyor of French descent, William B. Dumas, bought acres of farmland from the Abercrombie Holmes family.
