KICA-FM
KICA-FM (98.3 Hertz, MHz, "La Caliente 98.3") was a radio station last broadcasting a Regional Mexican format. Licensed to Farwell, Texas, United States, and serving the Clovis-Portales CSA, the station was last owned by HPRN Networks, LLP. History The station went on the air as KLZK on September 15, 1984. On June 14, 1991, the station changed its call sign to KICA-FM. After KLZK went off the air, the station was re-launched in 1991 under the KICA-FM call sign under the moniker of K-Classic 98.3; initially operating out of studios in Muleshoe, Texas, where it was co-located with Southwestern Entertainment Group sister stations KMUL (AM), KMUL and KMUL-FM. The original on-air lineup was Ray Don Stanton (who also doubled as KMUL's morning man), former KSMX-FM, KZZO jock Bryan Daniels and night guy Jeff Gardiner. KMUL-FM
KMUL-FM (103.1 FM) was a radio station in Muleshoe, Texas, United States. It broadcast from 1966 to 2012 and was last owned by Tallgrass Broadcasting. History John Burroughs, Leola Randolph, and Gilbert Lamb, the owners of KMUL AM, filed with the Federal Communications Commission on July 28, 1964, to build an FM radio station in Muleshoe. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the application on June 16, 1965, and a license to cover was requested in February 1966. In 2007, the KMUL stations were acquired by Tallgrass Broadcasting, which owned KICA-AM- FM and KKYC serving Clovis, New Mexico. One of the owners in Tallgrass was former TV news anchor and documentarian Bill Kurtis. Tallgrass went into receivership in 2010 after ceasing to pay a loan. KKYC (102.3 FM) was a radio station broadcasting a Classic rock/Rock format. Licensed to Clovis, New Mexico, US, the station served the Clovis area. The station was last owned by Monte Spearman and Gentry Todd Spearman's High Plains Radio Network, through licensee HPRN Networks, LLP. History In May 2016, KKYC changed format from Classic Rock to an all Rock mix devised by Corporate Rock Program Director Matt Miller. The popular format offered the core Classic Rock favorites in addition to 2000s and current hits. Miller added a new vibe to the station with big-name artist interviews, un-duplicated on-air contesting and outside the box event and promotions. Miller left KKYC April 5, 2017. Parmer County is a county located in the southwestern Texas Panhandle on the High Plains of the Llano Estacado in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 9,869. Farwell is a city in and the county seat of Parmer County, Texas, United States. Its population was 1,425 at the 2020 census.
