The Covenant Network is a network of Catholic radio stations in the Midwestern United States. Covenant maintains 15 full-power radio stations and a further 25 dependent translators in Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma. The Covenant Network maintains studios in St. Louis, Missouri, where it owns two AM stations feeding three FM translators. Covenant stations carry EWTN Radio programming as well as network productions and other Catholic radio shows. History Covenant was the brainchild of Tony and Teresa Holman, who met in St. Louis and felt a calling to share their faith. After looking for stations to buy, Covenant Network began broadcasting May 1, 1997, on WRYT, licensed to Edwardsville, Illinois. WOLG
WOLG is an FM radio station at 95.9 MHz in Carlinville, Illinois, owned and operated by the Covenant Network of Catholic radio stations. History WCNL went on the air December 8, 1990. Owned by the Carlinville Broadcasting Company, a subsidiary of Miller Media Group, the station aired a country format. Covenant Network acquired WCNL and WTIM in Taylorville in 1998, with the FM station going for $300,000. WOLG and WIHM, the former WTIM, began simulcasting programming. WOLG was the first FM radio station owned by Covenant Network. Translators WOLG is the nominal source of Covenant programming to nine translators, the most of any full-power station in the network. Frequency
Frequency is the number of occurrences of a repeating event per unit of time. There are two types of radio network currently in use around the world: the one-to-many (simplex communication) broadcast network commonly used for public information and mass media, mass-media entertainment, and the two-way radio (Duplex (telecommunications), duplex communication) type used more commonly for public safety and public services such as police, fire, taxicabs, and delivery services.
