KGHF (FM)
KGHF (99.7 FM) is an American radio station broadcasting a classic country format in Wichita, Kansas. The station is licensed to Belle Plaine, Kansas. KGHF broadcasts in the HD Radio format; the station's HD2 sub-channel airs a Regional Mexican format branded as "La Raza", which is also heard on 250 watt FM translator K273CX at 102.5 MHz. History KGHF was first issued a construction permit for 92.7 FM on February 10, 1993, issued as KUOY. Under the ownership of Daniel D. Smith, the station signed on as an All-News station on March 4, 1996 under the call sign KANR, and has been the only station in Wichita providing that format. On March 15, 2000, it became the temporary home to Smooth Jazz-formatted KWSJ, which was formerly located on 105.3 FM (now Hot AC KFBZ). KTHR (107.3 FM, "ALT 107.3") is a radio station operating in Wichita, Kansas. The station airs an alternative rock format. Its studios are located on East Douglas Avenue in Downtown Wichita, and the transmitter is located outside Colwich, Kansas. History KTHR's format history includes Easy Listening (or back then known as Beautiful Music) as KARD, which later evolved into an Adult Contemporary format. On March 3, 1981, the station's call letters changed to KKRD-FM (which would then be modified to KKRD on April 14, 1982), but maintained its Adult Contemporary format. By 1983, KKRD changed its format to Top 40/ CHR to compete with KEYN (now a Classic Hits station). Christopher Derek Foley, commonly known as KiddChris. (AKA Foley / Cobra / The Chris) (born 1974) is an American radio host. He has hosted radio shows in several cities since 1998. The radio show originated in his hometown of Syracuse, New York. His controversial radio show made its way to Wichita, Kansas ( KICT T-95FM, KDGS Power 93.9FM, KANR FLY 92.7FM), which raised the ire of local church groups.
